Tom Quilty trial for
Endurance
Riders - comms coverage - May 22 2010 A big day
with 11 competitors on the 160km ride and
approx 40 on the 80km ride made it an interesting day
for the amateurs that provided
the competitor tracking for the days ride. Radio coverage was
good with base able to contact all checkpoints using a
simplex 2m frequency. Cold
weather was the order of the day, with the 160k riders
starting at midnight. Clear skies let the temperature drop to -4c
overnight, and daytime temperatures up to 10c All the team are looking forward
to the next event
Thanks to the comms Team Who braved the extreme conditions
