Club
information
The club originated as the NORTH
WEST TASMANIA AMATEUR RADIO INTEREST GROUP in 2002, and in May 2009
changed name to CRADLE COAST AMATEUR RADIO CLUB. It has grown steadily
during those first years
The club meets monthly, normally
on the last saturday of the month.
Meeting locations, dates and times are advised on our web site home
page, sunday
morning broadcasts and sent to members e-mail also. Every alternate
month the meeting is designated "SOCIAL", meaning club business will be
kept to a minimum, allowing as much time as possible for a display,
tech support or guest speaker..
Currently the club is now an
incorporated body since the 15th of June
2009. Now, with the modern age of legal liability, the decision to
incorporate will give the members a much improved security against
financial ruin should some calamity occur. You can't afford to be a
member of a club or group that is not incorporated.
The club maintains a combination of 2metre and 70cm repeaters in 3
locations, plus a set of vhf/uhf beacons which provide indication of
propagation events for amateurs in distant locations.
